Current Protocols

Although Peru opened its borders to neighboring countries in October 2020, the current list now includes, among others, the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

On January 4th, 2021 Peruvian authorities imposed a mandatory 14-day quarantine for any travellers coming into the country. This confinement period can be fulfilled in private accommodation (hotels, temporary rentals, family homes, etc.) or the government will provide a designated location. On the 6th day of confinement, travelers will be able to retake a PCR COVID-19 test. A negative result will allow them to resume their travel plans throughout the country.Current national security measures allow access to all the following activities according to the category assigned to each region:

Category 1 – Lima (City), Arequipa, Cusco, Puno, Madre de Dios (Puerto Maldonado), Loreto (Iquitos)
  • Restaurants at 50% capacity
  • Entertainment, art, cultural and archaeological sites at 30% capacity and protocols. With the exception of the citadel of Machu Picchu, which opens at 50% capacity
  • National curfew runs from 9:00 pm to 4:00 am.
Category 2 – Ica (Paracas), Piura (Mancora)
  • Restaurants at 40% capacity
  • Entertainment, art, cultural and archaeological sites at 20% capacity with protocols.
  • National curfew runs from 7:00 pm to 4:00 am. Pedestrian transit is restricted on Sundays.

Travel Requirements

Before any trip, please keep in mind the following protocols:

  • Travelers must sign an Affidavit of Health, and are required to show a negative PCR COVID-19 test issued within 72 hours of their flight to Peru.
  • At the airport, everyone is required to use a surgical mask and face shield or safety googles at all times. During their stay, only a face mask will be required out in public.
  • Before departure, our team will help your clients find the closest testing center that will fulfill any requirements necessary to return home.
